Shorter treks require limited equipment and planning – all you have to do is amble along at your own pace. However, a longer trek, particularly in mountainous terrain, requires more preparation. In addition when trekking trips take two of more days certain equipment is to be carried and used. So, some basic mountaineering techniques will be needed. However, our guides are at your hand every moment and they can provide valuable assistance.

Wonderful trekking opportunity
Walking as a recreational activity and sport. Especially among those with sedentary occupations, hiking is a natural exercise that promotes physical fitness, is economical and convenient, and requires no special equipment. Because the hiker can walk as far as he wants, there is no physical strain unless he walks among hills or mountains.
Maglic is the highest although not the largest mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the most beautiful mountain of Montenegro. Maglić massif is located about 20 km on the southwest from the city Foca near the border with Montenegro. On Montenegrin side, the nearest place to Maglic; is Mratinje town. The mountain is on the north and west bordered by river Sutjeska, on the southwest by mountain Volujak, on the east by rivers Drina and Piva and on the south by valley Mratinjska Uvala.
Trnovacko lake is a lake in northern Montenegro, best known for its heart-like shape. Located at an altitude of 1517 meters, it is very popular with summer campers. Encijan Adventure Team will take you with our off-road vehicles to primeval forest Perucica, and then we will continue to Prijevor. After an easy two hour walk from Prijevor to Suha jezerina, followed by a half an hour medium difficulty climb, we arrive at the lake. When you take a look around on these mountains that surround the lake, you have the feeling that they are tasked to protect the lake with their strong shoulders and hide this jewel of nature.
Prime forest Perucica
Perucica is one of the last remaining primeval forests in Europe. It is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, near the border with Montenegro, and is part of the Sutjeska national park. The forest can only be explored in a company of rangers. The tallest measured Norway Spruce (63m) is located in this forest. Not many people had the opportunity to enjoy Perucica’s wild beauty, and keep in mind that you should not go on your own initiative without guides. Although it may not look scary, there is a big possibility that you can be lost in a second and maybe for days wander unsuccessfully looking for exit.
Name full of symbolism, picturesque, but true. Vast expanses, interwoven with green forests and a greener meadows and pastures, area where shepherds from the neighboring villages, used to pasture their numerous flocks. Today, only a few of them… They were replaced by numerous tourist hikers, walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists. In some days of summer, the whole area looks like a huge anthill. But these „ants„ do not work, they recreate!
Trekking, also known as backpacking in the wilderness, is the outdoor recreation of carrying gear on one’s back, while hiking for more than a day. Trust us, you do not have to be an elite endurance athlete to enjoy a day’s exercise in the wilderness. Not many experiences open up the heart and the mind like the hiking in a new place does.

How it all began
Encijan Adventure Team began offering whitewater rafting through the Tara River Canyon to customers looking for adventure back in 2002. Very few team members, as founders of the company, set out on a simple mission to provide the opportunity to the adventure seekers to experience the awe-inspiring natural wonder of the Canyon on Tara River rafting trips.
Prospective guides for Encijan Adventure team spend five years minimum perfecting their Tara River rafting skills under the guidance of veteran trip leaders before earning the position of “Rafting Skipper”. New guides, or guides in training, are known as “Skipper Interns” and it takes a very special person, full of passion, to be successful on the river and work in the natural wilderness of the Tara River Canyon.
