Hiking is a natural exercise that promotes physical fitness, is economical and convenient, and requires no special equipment. Because hikers can walk as far as they want, there is no physical strain unless they walk among hills or mountains.
Hiking outdoors has plenty of perks: nice views, fresh air, and the sounds and smells of nature.People who enjoy being in the great outdoors are usually fans of nature preservation and conservation. They tend to enjoy spotting various flowers, seeing birds, and sharing the stories from their trail.
It is sometimes very important for hikers to prepare themselves for the hike, mainly because they are venturing into the unknown territories, and they should know exactly what they are getting themselves into. It is a nice thing to have companions while hiking, because you are travelling on foot and sometimes for long distances, but do not worry, here at Encijan we will assign an experienced guide to always stay with you.
Numerous walking trails weave their ways through our regions. Everything is possible: from a relaxing family walk to challenging mountain hikes. One possibility of getting to know the mountain world is with our hiking programme. Our highly-trained mountain guides will show you the most beautiful spots, plants, forest, etc. The view is spectacular.
Hiking is also a great and inexpensive activity anyone can do during their travels. Just about any country in the world has a number of great forests, deserts, or mountains that are a real adventure to hike through.
Prijevor is the starting point for several hiking trails and paths, such as the paths to Maglić, along which ones can climb to the top in less than 3 hours, or paths to Trnovačko Lake, one of the most beautiful glacial lakes in the Balkans, which is also accessible in less than 3 hours walk. On the plateau there is an old shepherd’s village, one of the last remaining settlement of this type, in which you will, if you choose to visit, have the opportunity to see and learn how the traditional dairy products are produced and stored, as well as opportunity to taste the cheese and milk cream, and of course homemade brandy, which will be offered to you by a very hospitable people…
Trnovacko lake is a lake in northern Montenegro, best known for its heart-like shape. Located at an altitude of 1517 meters, it is very popular with summer campers. Encijan Adventure Team will take you with our off-road vehicles to primeval forest Perucica, and then we will continue to Prijevor. After an easy two hour walk from Prijevor to Suha jezerina, followed by a half an hour medium difficulty climb, we arrive at the lake. When you take a look around on these mountains that surround the lake, you have the feeling that they are tasked to protect the lake with their strong shoulders and hide this jewel of nature.
Perucica is one of the last remaining primeval forests in Europe. It is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, near the border with Montenegro, and is part of the Sutjeska national park. The forest can only be explored in a company of rangers. The tallest measured Norway Spruce (63m) is located in this forest. Not many people had the opportunity to enjoy Perucica’s wild beauty, and keep in mind that you should not go on your own initiative without guides. Although it may not look scary, there is a big possibility that you can be lost in a second and maybe for days wander unsuccessfully looking for exit.
Opportunity to visit ethno village Vranovina and hike on 1500m of altitude, along the edge of the Europe’s deepest Canyon.
Name full of symbolism, picturesque, but true. Vast expanses, interwoven with green forests and a greener meadows and pastures, area where shepherds from the neighboring villages, used to pasture their numerous flocks. Today, only a few of them… They were replaced by numerous tourist hikers, walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists. In some days of summer, the whole area looks like a huge anthill. But these „ants„ do not work, they recreate!
When people think about Hiking, they mostly think of nature, the great outdoors, a backpack and a tent…
For most people, Hiking is an escape back to nature and a great way to get a good workout while forgetting all about the day to day hassles of city life.

How it all began
Encijan Adventure Team began offering whitewater rafting through the Tara River Canyon to customers looking for adventure back in 2002. Very few team members, as founders of the company, set out on a simple mission to provide the opportunity to the adventure seekers to experience the awe-inspiring natural wonder of the Canyon on Tara River rafting trips.
Prospective guides for Encijan Adventure team spend five years minimum perfecting their Tara River rafting skills under the guidance of veteran trip leaders before earning the position of “Rafting Skipper”. New guides, or guides in training, are known as “Skipper Interns” and it takes a very special person, full of passion, to be successful on the river and work in the natural wilderness of the Tara River Canyon.
